Hazeldean Training & Development is a registered provider with Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) that meets the requirements to provide refresher training for the Practicing Certificate Scheme for Coal Mine Undermanager’s and Deputies.
This is done via a combination of online refresher training and face-to-face assessment.
Annual refresher modules containing material for three competency units, have been developed and provided online which in total contribute 15 hours annually toward the Practicing Certificate Scheme required hours.
Initially the following three units are offered to refresh the following competency units:
For Deputies:
• RIIMCU403E Apply and monitor the gas management plan.
• RIIMCU408E Apply the spontaneous combustion management plan.
• RIIUND401E Apply and monitor the ventilation management plan.
For Undermanager’s:
• RIIMCU502E Implement the gas management plan.
• RIIMCU501E Implement the spontaneous combustion management plan.
• RIIUND501E Implement the ventilation management plan.
The process involves completing the online modules then a face-to-face assessment.
The online material is the same for both Deputies and Undermanager’s, but the face-to-face assessment will be different but can be done simultaneously (i.e. Deputies and Undermanager’s in the same class). The online content is designed to take 2 to 3 hours per unit. The face-to-face assessment for all three units will be done in a day and currently can be done either on site, in Brisbane, Mackay, Rockhampton or any Bowen Basin mining town.
Each year another three units will be developed so that Deputies and Undermanager’s can obtain 15 hours toward the PCS each year.
HTD is also a provider for the SIMTARs Learning from Disasters training so that can contribute 20 hours toward the PCS for one year.
This has the advantage for sites that your Statutory Officials can complete the online content in their own time and may be only out of the system for one day to complete the 15 hours of training.
